I posted earlier last night with some of my finds but then decided to do one of my late hunts. It was a nice night and I hit an old site that was only around for a short amount of time. The road that went by it in the 1860's platte was eliminated by 1872. I had high hopes of lots of finds but it was not meant to be. In fact, there was not a lot of iron signals there either. I am going to assume that this was a log cabin site but can't be sure. Even though a lot of you are sick of the rain, I am happy about it because fields like this one have been delayed for planting. Not sure why someone holed the center of the 53 LC, but I will take it nonetheless. A 63 fatty, a very nice High Gilt Standard button, and someone help me on the item in the middle of the picture. It was in a couple pieces when I dug it. Thanks for looking.

Good finds.

The mystery item might be pieces of a bridle rosette. Are there any signs of lead backing on the piece?

Hello,
the item at the center of your Pic could be a rossette from
CW time cavalry. Just an idea.
Congrats to your finds
