Got out today for a couple of hours and hit the Wax Seal site that I recovered the 2 Reale a few days ago, working the Deus 2 today and going really slow ! Only one of the large cents has a readable date on it 1835 . Also eye balled a clay marble and a portion of a granite Celt bit. If anyone knows what the brass cap looking thing is I'd like to know what purpose it served.

I think your brass cat thing is a thimble. I couldn't imagine digging two large cents in one day

Nice hunt.
What's the otherside look like?

That's a great hunt in my book.

It's the brass piece setting on broken Celt bit in first photo

It measures 2" wide by 1/4 " deep , looks to have a shallow threading to it also.

nice assortment of recoveries, wtg

that’s my kind of hunt!!!! Congrats on your goodies, my first initial thought was brass 2 piece door knob or drawer pull 🤷‍♂️

Midwest? 2 LC's in one hunt? Are you sure you weren't in my state??
Awesome finds, great work- Congrats!!

You think two in one day is thrilling? I got THREE Sunday afternoon, for the first time in my 50 year MDing career. And that is in Michigan! It may be easy to do that on the East coast, but it's rare to get one here in Michigan. BTW, the date on the other one is 1850. I can see it plainly in the photo.
