Lead carving...looks like a man in a coffin.

I found this odd little item in a remote area along Lake Michigan (no homes in the vicinity). It's made out of lead and was about 6 inches down (similar depth that I would find fur-trade artifacts). To me it looks like a man in a coffin.

Kind of looks like wood grain to me like someone poured molten lead into a hole in something that was made of wood possibly a repair or something?

It kind of looks like a really old piece of chocolate from a box of chocolates.

First thing came to my mind also, sort of like a Mounds bar or one of those carmal nut pieces covered by a layer of chocolate.
