Went out this morning for 30min..
Could not take the cold. It was 18degrs.out with the wind..
But did manage to find this eagle..
Not sure about it..Came off something, maybe flag pole..Pretty neat though...Hand carved!!! With nice white patina...Found the blow hole button the other day just didn't get a chance to post..
If anyone seen the eagle before or any ideas let me know..Thanks for looking
George

I wonder if maybe its part of a walking cane. Maybe door knocker.

I was thinking the same thing, but wouldn't the lead not hold up??
Pretty cool though..thanks for ur response..

I think that's why the beak om mine is all bent up. Here's one I found from an older site. Pewter held up well.

I can see how that one might be a walking cane..Maybe a little small.
Unless your hands are huge?..lol.

Nice blowhole button, I have found many colonial buttons but never a blowhole button. That site looks like it has the potential for even more great finds.

Maybe something to do with an umbrella? :icon_scratch:

Might be a hood ornament. Possibly Chrysler

Did you blow in the hole?:laughing7:

I really like the lead eagle. The bottom looks like a .69 cal CW bullet but it is too long to be that. Congrats on the blow hole button - those don't show up very often. Be really careful with it or it will fall apart. Don't be surprised to find it in your storage case in two pieces after a couple months of drying out.

Might be a carved whitworth bullet? If it is, you Really have something very very nice there.Maybe p.m thecannonballguy. That looks like a bullet base to me too?Only thing throwing me off is it's curvature around the middle and the top, unless it might have been heated while making.Very cool whatever it is.
