Lead item at possible old fishing village site

Following up on some information about an old fishing villiage that was abandoned back in the 1800's. Didn't really find anything that made me believe it was there. Found this lead item that doesn't look like a modern day sinker. It doesn't really look like a slug either. Wondering if it might be a weight from a fishing net?
