Lead object found. Is it a bullet?

I found this yesterday at an1828 Blacksmith Homestead. It is lead. Does anyone know what it is?

It's a 20th century shotgun slug.

I agree that its a fired shotgun slug.
?But, are they hollow now-a-days...?

The shotgun slugs that I have are just like that. They are hollow and have the slanted grooves on the sides. The grooves are suppose to make it spin in a smooth barrel such as a shotgun.
