Lead Seal?

[Woodland Detectors]

Going through my "what is it's today" deciding whats junk and what's not.

This one looks like the larger version of a lead bale seal. It is lead and the size of an average belt buckle. It was found in an older site. Any Ideas?

Im just guessing but it looks more like a lead gasket to me with the tab for proper alignment.

I guess it could be part of a seal.

Might it be Pewter...Lead Alloy, they made a circular pewter buckle between 1400-1600

It may be a seal, but I don't think it is the cloth or bale type. It just doesn't look right...
