Lead SORY. Help please.

This item is about the same size as a merc dime. It reads SORY on one side and appears to have a snake on the other with a V above it. I have no idea what it is. Any help is appreciated.

Looks to me like a lead seal, but I'm not an expert

Maybe a squashed and carved camp lead or bullet? anyway if it is a carved lead that's a cool find!

What you have here is a U.S. Customs Lead Seal...
