On Sunday I promised my wife I would take the her and the kids to Barnes and Noble hoping the weather would break and I could get out for a little while to hunt. Well as luck would have it the temps were pretty descent for February and a light rain was melting the lingering snow. So after 3 hrs at B&N I got my gear and headed out. There is an area of town where old maps show there used to be a "public square". This is an area that is nowhere near the town so i am guessing it was some kind of park or something, it is currently property adjacent to a school playground. Well to make a long story short I didn't find any thing exciting but i learned a lesson. The ground was still pretty much rock hard and while stabbing at the ground with my knife/digger I nailed a pretty cool item. I don't know if its from a kids toy watch or not, but it is definitely part of a watch. You can see the parts for holding the watch band and to the side is the winder. When I dug it up I looked for other parts but there was nothing else there.

I also dug up a little clad to add to my collection which will some day buy me a one of those top of the line detectors. Any suggestions ???

Find more clad. :D

Good haul.

Lesson:

Move south.

Nice stuff!

Ivy,

That is a neat watch. I've never seen one like it...I agree with Charlie, you need to find more clad. Looks like you had a good day..Spend time with the wife/kids & got to go detecting, that sure sounds like a great day to me.

Neat find! Minelab XT70. HH, Mike

Nice finds there. Can't imagine the ground frozen!
Or even having enough moisture to freeze! (big dry on here as usual)!

Definatly nice watch find there!

Have fun,
Salvager

Find more silver? And I reccomend whites DFX or XLT.
