Kern River is very close, gold usually small but plentiful. This time a year the hills are COLD,dress warm and be prepared to hightail quick.Up there storms blow in fast and hard.Tons a au 2 u 2-John

Thanks HJ appreciate all the info, can a person metal detect in the national parks in California.

Bill Chapman who owns the Gold-N-Detector shop in Golden, CO told me that without exception that if the words NATIONAL and PARK are together, you cannot metal detect. Anywhere in the US. If it's something like NATIONAL FOREST or any other kind of park you just need to ask because they're all different. Treasures are waiting for you!

Dont forget to devote some time to Arizona..southern arizona is as good as the northern parts so Ive been told...good luck and dont forget the pics when you get tha goldddddddd !!!!!

HH to all

Lordsburg, and Deming NM. Rockhound State park is appox. 7 mi. south of I 10 at Deming.

You will shortly find that going to or moving to Bakersfield is a local joke.

My last HS Reunion they gave away a 1 night stay at the Bakersfield Hilton Inn as the 1st place door prize...

Second place recieved 2 nights
