I am planning to put a 42 inch light bar on top of my Jeep Commander. Here is the question if I put a 50 inch light bar on top I need to mount it on top of the roof and make holes (OUCH) in the roof . What is the best way to seal the holes so it wont leak ? or would it be better to mount a 42 inch light bar with cubes on the outside edge with a 45 deg angel on top of the roof rack ? the cost is about the same .
Oh by the way the light bars now have a 5 watt led in them instead of a 3 watt led .

????

Go with the roof rack. There is no good way to seal holes in the roof of a car that look good. JMHO

Thanks I will

when I needed to mount a ligh tbar on my trucks roof I went to my local tire repair shop and picked up a 1/2 dozen tire valve stem bottoms ( the flat round part) and by putting the bolts through them they made a tight seal when bolts were tightened down.

Cool idea I've not seen that done before. I Was wondering what you did to fasten on the inside. does your truck have a headliner or was it like mine and just the metal roof exposed?

Up date to led light bar I decided to put a 52 inch light bar on top now

Red light bar. That is so missleading.
