Hello all...
Although this is my 2nd post here at T-Net, I've been viewing for awhile now, Today was the best day ever.
my bro-n-law, cousin and I were out mding and we hit a spot that we knew had the potential for cw relics...boy did it show its self. I got a good hit and dug a shot bullet and my bro had a hit and yelled to me to come see...I look up and hes doing the happy dance, so, I knew it was good, I ran over to him and hes hold what hes been hoping for on top of the ground was a cs buckle, so were duding each other and high 5's, and he hits the ground again with a good signal, I told him to let me dig...2" down out pops another!!!we start to body slam and go nuts...this is totally to good to be true...my cuz comes over to see what all the comotion is and were chatting and my bro starts to get more hits, so, we spread out and my cuz pulls a pulled enfield, I get a hit and I pull one too, then another, and a 3 ringer, i went back to my bro, and hes hitting another spot, i check the spot where he got the buckles and I pull a flattened piece of lead bent in half with pieces stuck inside that were flattened and bend the same...looked to be what they used to hold the flint in place when they didn't have leather. Id help would be great on this piece.
So to total up what we pulled...3 pulled, 2 shot, 1 cleaner, 2 dropped, 2 cs buckles, part of a spoon...pretty good afternoon I must say :laughing7:

The other half of those buckles has to be there someplace. Keep hitting it.

i think it will be hard to top that day.. good job

Congratulations and welcome to T-net.
Two CS in a day is fantastic. I am sure this thread will get busy after this. Two buckles and I would have been scanning that spot for buttons as well. My first thought was grave but guess not as they were in the same hole.Sounds like some virgin area .Look forward to what else you find and what else Lee's boys dropped.

One of the best days that I've read about! The wreaths have to be there too so pound the heck out of that site. Congrats!!
Mike

Man ! Congrats on some Fantastic Finds ! I was on the Summit 3 times this year with DeArmitt Pa. We came away with some decent finds, but no Buckles like that :icon_thumright:

WOW!!!!!!!!!
That is incredible!!!!
2 finds of a lifetime in one day ...minutes apart and in perfect condition!!
Certainly a banner find . I will be nominating this for the banner.
BTW , the bullets you describe as Enfields appear to be Gardners to me (the bullets with 2 rings).
Congrats on such a great find and thanks for sharing your story and pics.

Awesome two buckles in one dig !

Very nice finds keep pounding that site sure is more there.....Matt

Wooohooo :hello2: :hello2: what an excellent day you all had! Two buckles in one day, I would have been doing back flips just finding one - nice lead too. Sounds like you've found a sweet spot...definitely hit it again.

Well folks...we hit it again this afternoon, we didn't come across the rest of the buckes...we know they gotta be there. Mike found 2 more shot bullets and a sharps?, I found a sharps? When I got home I was cleaning out my trash metal and came across a piece that caught my eye, I cleaned it up abit and think it may be a button?...Anyhow...Thanks for the correction in a previous post on the enfield I mentioned ;D...you were right they were gardners, I had to reread my post to catch that...
We'll be back to the site again...What is strange is not finding the pieces to the rest of the belt?? :dontknow: Any insight on any of the photos is welcomed.
Thanks.

Color me jealous as heck. No civil war stuff in my neck of the woods. If there was I probably wouldn't ever make it to work.
