Let's combine remote control with MDing
The idea works in principle, but working out the kinks is the hard part.
Here is my first stab at the design.
I would suggest getting the spring issue of MAKE magazine - - they have
plans for a remote control lawn mower, which of course could be adapted
to a metal detector.
Problem is, it costs hundreds of dollars and lots of man-hours.
I think we could just latch a detector on to a R/C vehicle and do away
with all the do-dads and bells and whistles.
Once the basic design works, we could add remote viewing or
signal transfer.
The video shows a hybrid that costs under $110.
You need a "crawler" type vehicle, which has more torque.
