Let's Play Some Music-I Found A Killer Bone Flute
I went back to the spot where I found the Discoidal last week and scratched around some more and found a few nice pieces. I found a really nice Bone Bead. It's one of the bigger ones I've ever found. I also found a couple decent points, including the one I had missed last week. It was right where I had thought it would be and I don't know how I missed the last two times I went back to look for it. I looked over that area today and I saw it immediately.
The best find of the day was a killer 3 hole Bone Flute. I didn't get and in situ because I didn't realize what it was until I pulled it out of the ground and wiped it clean to see the 3 holes. It's 3 7/8 inches long and is very highly polished all over including both ends. It is a very nice piece and it whistles very loudly. My dog and my wife hate it because I sat around blowing on it all night.
I had my camera set on the wrong setting so a few of the pics didn't come out real well.
The first 2 pictures are the Bone Bead.
The third picture is of the point I missed last week. The tip right below it was just that, a tip.
Pic 4 is the Flute laid out on my glove after I cleaned some of the dirt off of it and pic 5 is the spot it came from. If you look closely you can see the indentation in the ground where it was laying.
Picture 6 is the long skinny Triangle in situ.
Picture 7 is an in situ of the round based Knife.
The next 3 are of the days finds and closeups of the Flute.
The last two are of a broken Gorget that my buddy Joe found. It will have been very nice had it been all there.
