After 25 years of metal detecting I've only found three. The top 2 are sterling silver, the bottom one is gold plated. Not sure if its WWI or WWII?

After 25 years of metal detecting I've only found three. The top 2 are sterling silver, the bottom one is gold plated. Not sure if its WWI or WWII?

The top wings look very similar to WWII Army Air Corp wings, but the dimensions and size aren't quite right. They may be later Army Aviation wings but aren't modern day. They also could be early Air Force. They aren't made of sterling these days. I'm unsure about the middle one. The bottom set is the former Army Air Corp branch insignia which is the current Army Aviation branch insignia. It looks as if yours is probably WWII, and would go on each side of the officer's jacket (greens) collar just under the "U.S." insignia. If I can dig it up I have a picture of my grandfather, a WWII C-47 pilot, with both his Army Air Corp wings and the branch insignia for the jacket collar you have showing.

Good stuff. I'm an Army Air Traffic Controller, and wear the modern day "Aircrew" wings.
