I found this on a farm , along a bayou that was used by early settlers into southeast Arkansas.... The history of the farm goes back antebellum times...... I don't believe the piece is from that period , but I would like to get some ideas on what it might be..... the best guess I have heard is an "otter tag" issued to trappers ...... also this part of Arkansas was subject to the state cattle dipping laws .......
