Lightning rod???

Just back in from a night walk. I think I just found a really old copper lighting rod. Or maybe a leather punch? It weighs just over 20grams and is 3 5/8 inches long. It appears to flatten out at the top where it’s broken. Fun find. 😊

Was found in a field. Pretty far away from the ocean.

Maybe a canvas or burlap needle? Definitely looks like a needle. Also, nets aren't just used in oceans. There was a booming aquaculture industry along the rivers where I live, you can still see the anchors in the rocks where they fixed nets to raise fish.
