Lil' Lead and a button.....Need a bullet ID?

Hit the field's today for a couple hour's close to home...I found a fired .58 and another pistol round but I can't seem to find it.Need Help on this one. Also a button that at first I thought was part of a "J" hook until I saw the shank, not sure if it is the back or not,no marking's.The "pistol bullet" measure's at .375 x.540 long +/-....

Civil,
Congrats on the two nice finds. Any back mark on the button?

Nice finds. The closest thing I can come on your bullet is a 36 cal Prescott >.382 x .580 Most all other 36's are longer.

Hey Civil, looks like a variant of a .36 Colt. I have seen quite a few that were of different patterns. I own a few. I have one that looks similar to yours that I know is a Colt. I'll have to go and compare with yours. Those rings look machined for sure though. ;)

Maybe a Smith and Wesson too but the nose on yours looks more blunted...but it could have been fired:

I agree with Sentinel, it looks like a 36 cal. possibly a colt. That wide ring on the base matches up pretty well.

Just pumipin away at the relics, Joe.
With that Running battle you are hunting down there,
you are liable to come up with a little bit of everything.....
......and you are.
