Thurlow Weed has came up in our discussions on here before. He was the biggest shaper of public opinion in New York. A lot of people tried to take advantage of that, for a lot of different reasons. "One would sooner hold back the oceans tide than the public's opinion" LOL! Great story, thanks for posting it.
