Yeah it's kind of hard to pick out a favorite find. One of my personal faves was a rusty open switchblade, blade pointing up, in the sand at the bottom of a kid's slide in the park. The buttons, buckles, brooches and other stuff fire the enthusiasm, the truth is in the good that comes from a good day hunting.
A few faves might include these finds, the pigeon was a premier racing bird that cost it's owner in the thousands. I was gonna eat the bird because the owner did not return my calls or e-mail after I located him through the banding info. Would have been the most expensive dinner I'd ever had. Found that bird in the backyard.
The test bench shows an AM/FM synthesized sig gen I found in a pile being dumped by Simpson Electric when they left town, along with a sweep marker generator, a function generator and several of the old Simpson meters now prized because the analog meters have uses the DMM's can't meet. Value there? Thousands...
How about that Senora Nuestra De Atocha 1611 reale from the famous 1622 ship wreck in the gold bezel, found in a playground!
Civil War collar pin and heel plate from a cavalry officer, yeah!
So what kind of treasure hunting interests you most?
