Better pictures this time.more info.
Found 5 " deep in forest near a 1908 v nickle.Made of brass,base and nut too.The coin in pics is a nickle.The area has both mining and logging histories dating to mid 1800s.Any ideas what it was used for?

did the little man in the boat fall overboard? it is a cool little boat and a good find.but geeze..give us a chance. if someone knows what is is.
