I had one like this i throw from high altitude but not explode.I found this in creep of a rockstone.Thanks for advice.

Someone to tell me what is white thing in bottom of the bomb!?

The white ring (lead) is called the sabot which provides a tight seal in the barrel when fired.

It is a live round so it should be treated as one.

Sort of looks like a Hotchkiss. I would post it in the what is it forum, Cannonballguy can ID it more specifically for you.

It has been said by some, but you should treat that thing like a baby. We had two of these (Very similar) brought to the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station EOD Unit years ago. When we were conducting demo training, we were asked to add them to our shots. They would be sympathetically detonated. We only used 2 lbs of C4 for training anyway so no big deal. One was a normal 2 lb shot the second was much larger (obviously had a charge inside the projectile) Evidently they had been sitting on some ones mantle for 30 years and once the gentleman passed away, his wife brought them in to the EOD guys there.

You definitely found an artillery shell. I wouldnt touch it. Not even with a rope or anything like that. GPS as close as you can to it, put a stick in the ground with a bright colored ribbon on it pointing in the direction of the shell, and report that to proper authorities. If you mess with it they may be picking you up with a spatula, a pair of tweezers, and putting you in a ziploc bag.

I let them where they are ,but authorities aren't a good choice. I let the 2 ”toys” exactly where i let last year (mark with small stick). And one things i dont want to be quoted by Police,so if someone want to be a tourist i give them exactly location (how exactly i can) and good luck. So ,peace between ”terrorist”! (State-Citizen)

It's not an artillery shell. It's an Armor Piercing shell off a anti tank gun, probably tank gun in a common 75mm caliber. The cylindrical part sticking out the bottom of the shell is the fuze. Armor piercing shells don't have the fuze on top because their use requires a point to puncture the armor. They are not fun like others stated before. Chemicals inside the fuze become unstable over time and some, like the infamous 88mm AP shell, have to be blown up on site because they are extremely dangerous. Leave it alone.
