I found this nice little brochiopod fossil in the yard today while I was looking to see what the rain turned up. It has both sides of the shell. I found that and a nail today. It is funny, sometimes after a good rain in that spot I will find a handful of nails and nothing else, other times I find fossils and no nails. Today was 50-50. :)

Edit: Oh man, I meant to put this in the fossil area. :BangHead:

OK so it's not a rock. Still pretty cool. Thanks for sharing.
When does an old shell become a fossil?

I couldn't tell you exactly, but the sea life I find around here is around 400 million years old.

Too late, once on the net it's there forever.
