Little piece of gold w old stone

Hello,

I found this item along with other goodies today.

It has tabs to depress on both sides, and crooked looking post on the back. Appears to be 10k. Tested it . This has been in the ground a like time, but I’m sure it’s solid, and not plated.




I was very happy to dig what I dug today!


Not pictured - 2 v nickels, 2 buffs, and 2 Jefferson’s. And the unknown gold was in the same ‘hole’ as all the nickels. A area about 2 square feet. Thanks folks! What is this thing?

Appears to be Sapphire.

I’m not certain it’s not plated now after I cleaned it up a bit. There’s some writing on deteriorated inside as you can see.

I am not 100% sure, but that may have been the top to a desk set mascara.

At first i was thinking snuff dispenser top 1800s then i saw the bottom

It might be the top of and old victorian perfume bottle

like this see button on the top might be another on the other side when pressed open the clamp that holds the stopper closed tip to apply

I can't see past earing but I don't much about cosmetic containers. I do notice that the stone appears to have been very crudely cut. That might not be an indication of poor quality but age instead.
If it's hand cut it has to be old. I'd like to se the ring too.
