Well LLK went into first grade today. Our hunts will be limited now, between work and school. We just spent the last two weeks traveling. Week one we were in MA and CT (I was working at our sister factories) Mom and LLK went shopping and sightseeing. Week two was vacation heaven. We traveled through New York State seeing the historic sights and MD'ing. We now have written permission to hunt 23 sites in NY. More than half are old Greek Revival type homes dating to the early 1800's, the others are potential skirmish sites dating back to the French and Indian War and Revolutionary War periods. We spent a day at the Herkimer Diamond Mine, that was a blast, we all found some of the crystals. LLK lasted about 4 hours banging on the rocks! We found a pile of clads, 32 wheat pennies that are soaking in a peroxide bath, 4 silver Washington quarters,1 barber dime,1 Canadian silver dime, 8 Mercury dimes, 1 silver war nickel, 1 dateless Buffalo nickel, and 2 Liberty head nickels, and a pile of marbles (posted on the marble site). Yesterday LLK wanted to go to the local school and detect, the first coin I pulled from the ground was a 1942 Mercury dime! We purchased the history books, got our maps, and GPS ready and will be hitting NY state this fall to view the great fall colors and doing some more scouting, and MD'ing!

She didn't get much spit on these! The Buffalo Nickel, barber dime and two of the Quarters came from a sandy swimming area. Lots of wear and scratches on these coins.

nice job on all of the silver and the buffalo nickel!!

We need a #1 Dad Site here.....That would probably include us all. ;D She's going to be one Heck of a digger.Awesome find's Will.....You have one sweet site!!

 Excellent finds as always. You need to throw in a wheat penny only day ever once in a while so everyone else can feel like they had a good day out. ;D

so much silver, you two did great! cant wait to see what else you pull from the areas you have permission to hunt later.

Buffalo's and Barbers at the beach!........fantastic!!......simply unbelieveable!........amazing where people find coins these days!

My new plan for tomorrow is to get up early and try to pluck a Chain Cent from under the high school bleachers! (and with a little luck it may still have a touch of luster left on it!!)

HH all!
