Lobo Super Trac question

I never owned one but i hear & read that they are a very good gold detector......I also hear they are a good coin & jewlery detector......

I've only used one a few times when I visited my brother in NM while we looked for nuggets. He used one for years and says it does well and can find #9 bird shot too.

You might get more answers to this question under the fourm .... Gold Prospecting ...Metal detecting for gold... You don't see to much about the LST here in the Tesoro fourm............ There is about 4 Tesoro dealers on Tnet......... One of them might come back with info on the LST..........

I don't think you are going to get a answer from any of the Tesoro dealers on Tnet here.......... I think they are more of coin & Jewelry hunters & relic........... not Gold for you really don't see much here about the LST.....

I have a Lobo Supertraq, this is my second one since it took 18 years to beat the first one silly and it worked fine when I sold it, I guess I just wanted a new one. Call me at 678-654-1954 with any questions about it. Brian

The lobo is a very good machine ive used one here last summer like everthing else size make a differance. i found a small peice the size of a pin head at 3 inches. Here in Ga. their is a lot of hot rocks i had to turn the sensitivty down a little to keep from digging them. i also used it coin hunting

Will this detector be a decent nugget hunter and if so about what would it's limit be on the small end nuggets as to size? I am considering one. Also, does it ground balance well?

junglejim,

Yep, that is what the LST is built for, nugget hunting. I only have about fifteen hours of nugget hunting experience (In Santa Fe) but I can tell you that the Super Traq is very sensitive to small pieces of lead (from fired bullets), which is similar to gold flecks or nuggets. It GBs very easy and of course the all metal mode is auto GBing or as Tesoro calls it "computerized ground tracking". They also included discrimination circuitry so you can use the detector for coin and relic hunting. I'm a Tesoro dealer, if I can help you further please PM me. Joe

I have had my LST for many years.
One of the best auto ground trackers in the business. and can respond to gold down to around 0.04gm. with the stock coil.

We use the Lobo SuperTraq exclusively as our "VLF" machine at Arizona Gold Adventures. It is a solid gold nugget finder and ground balances easy as pie! I have found BB-sized pickers at 7" - Good Luck! Terry
