Cool finds freshwater or saltwater beach.

:icon_thumright: Digging that 1956 beach wheatie is good forecast for finding silver coins & probably really nice old silver or gold jewelry there. Our cold-water beaches here on central coast mean not many adults go in water, so less rings and stuff lost -- but fun when I finally dig it up! I detect on drier parts of beach or at lowest tides as my machine can't go far under water. I've been slowly detecting beaches here for over 2 years, at first found all modern coins, then near surf line one wheatie like you did -- then eventually came several nice silver rings & silver pendants with stones. Last month, finally struck my first gold -- awesome heavy custom-made ring! That gorgeous gold ring was covered with thin layer of iron due to lots of big old iron under our beach leaching into the sand. And it had been there for decades! Easily chipped the iron layer off with my fingernails. Some of the best beach finds are shoved up against boulders, jumbled concrete pilings or against those old hunks of iron! Don't avoid the crummy areas as for me they've produced my best finds! My prettiest silver ring was my "reward" for pulling 8 or 9 nasty old nails one at a time from beach so kids wouldn't step on them. That ring was in the center of the scattered nails! HAVE FUN! :laughing7: Andi

Nice finds Western Sky Ranch.

nice finds!, i had my 350 for a year and i learned that thing inside and out, fantastic machine

Very cool! We have a 350 too and it is a good machine and easy to use.

CJON455 and Atomic Ed, I see you both not only own the ACE 350, but you have the AT PRO as well. I was looking at the AT PRO online yesterday and watching some videos on it. It looks like a great machine and it's getting harder and harder to convince myself not to buy it........:laughing7:

Can you tell me, when do you use the AT PRO as opposed to the ACE 350? Or is it that you just upgraded and now have a spare detector? Any other tips or comments on the AT PRO would be helpful also.

Thanks,

Ray

Ray, I just got my atpro last week, I have been neglecting my 350 ever since lol. dont get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the 350 but I felt it was time for an upgrade. If youre considering the atpro, my advice is learn the heck out of your 350 before you spend the extra bucks, they are VERY similar when it comes to pinpointing, where the hotspot on the coil is, pretty much alot, except for the pro mode, and it has excellent iron seperation. Ive revisited 3 sites i went to w/ my 350 and snatched keepers that i missed w/ the 350. and in each plug w/ my keepers was a nail, or junk, that would just mask out the keeper w/ the 350 unfortunately. Ok theres my book, maybe atomic ed can chime in on some more happy huntin!!
