Local pawn shop $10 bonus coupon

So, one of my local pawn shops is running a coupon special. If you bring in $50 worth of merchandise, they will pay you an extra $10. That is a 20% premium. That would put me well over melt if they pay 85-90% of melt to start. Gonna take in 12 40%ers and see if they will pay me $64, 12*4.50, plus $10. That would be $5.33 per coin....well over current melt of $4.90.

You got a link to the coupon or a picture? I see these ads all the time in my local paper. There is usually some catch all fine print at the bottom. The one I just saw this morning was a similar deal to what you're saying, however the fine print said "must present coupon at beginning of transaction." Basically, that $10 bonus I'm advertising? Yeh, I'm just gonna account for that in what I pay you for your coins and then add it on that end so you think you got a deal. How people don't see stuff like that and realize they are doing business with a scoundrel is beyond me.

They certainly are. Only problem I see with it is that they think that some of us are truly dumb enough to fall for this little scheme. It's insulting to my intelligence. Then again, you really have to be an idiot to not see what they are doing. No one realizes that the "bonus" they are giving you was factored into their quote long before you walked through their door. I guess it's just annoying to see an advertisement that makes out like they are being such upstanding and charitable business people when in reality they are as money hungry as anyone else. A wolf in sheep's clothing if you will.

Ivan....i called and asked what they were paying for 40%er's......8x face.....or $4 each. I took in 13 halves and the coupon. They paid me my $4 * 13 = $52 plus the $10 bonus, for a total of $62......or $4.77/coin.,,,or 96.7% of melt. My faith in humanity is restored.....lol.

only a 3.3% profiet margin for them -- wow I am shocked * that you got that close to melt -- unheard of in these parts 80% to 90% of spot melt is the max around here at best
