Found in southern va. Near Clarksville,
I believe it is the second one I have found, but I have lost the first one.
It has a henge on one side, plane back, looks as thought there was a chain attached to it at some point. Top broke off as I pulled it from the dirt and gravel. Ever see one?
The shell is a 38 or something close...

I'm thinking the top of a lady's pocket watch key. Some of them also served as lockets and were worn as necklaces. That might explain the chain.

Maybe, it is just a chain holding the top piece on and it had a acouple more links what broke as I pulled it out. I will try to put some more photos on tonight, that may help.
