Logging hook? What is it?

I found this last spring at a lumber camp It seems too blunt to be a hook to drive into a log. Any other hook that I have found had a sharp point that could be pounded into a log.

looks like part of a log jack. a devise with a long handle a foot and a hook thats similar to yours it lifts the log a few inches to make cutting easier
