I returned to the site where i dug the Union sword belt plate this morning and got a single coin out of the area. I know there has to be seated there because a lot has been pulled out by other people already, but I'll settle for this! I've only ever dug a handful of Barbers, and they've always been dimes, so this was a nice change for me! I'm assuming it's a bit dark because it was lying under about 8" of decaying oak leaves and everything there is stained dark as a result. There's more to be had, and it's not an easy site to traverse, so I'll have a good place to return to while the weather is hot for awhile!

Wonderful find!
I'd be really happy with that.

Great Barber! For some reason, I have dug almost more Barber quarters than Washingtons, and their mintage wasn't as long...but I'll take what the ground gives...and it's not "dark", it's toned!...lol...thx for sharing...ddf

Great find, barber quarters are a tough one. I've only dug four in seven years.

Congrats great find. Been at it two years and have yet to find a barber quarter. Good job!!

Heck at two years I was still a couple of years away from finding my first silver coin of any kind!
