Lone Star and gold detection

The owners manual says to hunt for gold using the All Metals mode. It doesn't mention how best to adjust the the sensitivity or disc knobs when doing so. Any ideas please?

Will I be able to detect for small gold, like rice size? Other posts talk about finding small gold rings in tot lots so that must be possible.

well not sure where you are exactly detecting, but while i was at the jersey shore i had my lone star set on disc. and both knobs between 11 and 12 o'clock and found nickels which means i would have picked up gold in that range. hope this helps.
