He has an evil look about him. Possibly fish tremble when he walks the bank.

He's not lonely. He likes being by himself so he can catch all of the fish

Thanks for the replies. I am told that this particular bird spends most of his waking hours in this same spot.......NGE

But you would think that he would like a change of scenery. LOL

Thanks for sharing

Ray

he was watching you -- these birds are very "alert"to whats going on around them -- and you had his attention

thats a "blue heron" --

Were you fishing? If so, i bet the lazy a$$ wanted your fish. This happened to me in melbourne, florida. I was fishing off a dock in the river (or bay) and this tall bird, i think it was some kind of heron would come a few feet behind me and wait for me to catch a fish. Every time i reeled in a fish that bird came and took it right off my hook! Those things freak me out, they look like dinosaurs in the eyes. lol I went fishing everyday i was there and that bird was always there waiting on me to catch his dinner. It was disgusting watching it gauge the poor fish eyes out. I don't eat fish i put them back so imagine how i felt. :(

If you weren't fishing then i don't know what to tell ya. Is it mating season? lol

You may have had a maribu bird watching and eating from your hand....ahhh.......errrr, line. Intimidating too.

yep while you might be doing catch and release fishing --- hes not --- tired wore out fish are much easier to catch --so he was just waiting for you to "assist him" and folks say animals are dumb --yah right.
