Creek walking this afternoon again. About 2 miles counting distance to and from the creek. 52 degrees F.
I found a lot of misc quartz chunks and chalcedony (not shown) for projects.
In photo:
Left item. I swore it was an unfinished point. Cleaned it up. Just a rock.
Center item. Looked like a spoke-shave for a minute. Just a broken rock.
Right item. Flint debitage.

Amazing how some look so good in situ. Great walk any way. Maybe next time.

I know the feeling, sometimes I come home with a few with potential only to clean them up and see they are flakes or nothing… actually had one that looked like the end of a big biface but once I got all the dirt off it was a hunk of limestone, but silver lining before I tossed it I noticed a little snail or ammonite in it.

The center piece is also debitage, and nice material at that!
Thanks. I wondered about it with the radial scarring, but wasn’t sure. I’m guessing it is brown chert or opaque chalcedony.

Missed this one some how. Still no rain for me so I’m still doing things around the house.
