I'm pretty intrigued by this. Found at a site that dates 1850s to 1880s. As you can see the box can open from both sides. Inside there is a spring. To me it looks like you put multiple items inside and pull them out as the spring pushes another one up. Like a napkin dispenser. It is silver plated. Also the engravings that I can make out are

HALL
AMP HOLDE
PAT. MAR 25... looks like 25 to me

I'm sure there are some letters that are missing. Sure would appreciate some help.

P.W. Hall made Postage Stamps Holders & Ticket Holders as early as 1875... and holds patents for them all too.
