LOOK AT THIS HALF DIME LOL

Got out with gary 2 hunts so,both are combined into one.
My record breaking copper still eludes me i don't have much time to find just one lousy stinkin copper.maybe i'm tryin too hard

anyways a few buttons.the one piece floral is WADHAM's & COE backmark.the other gilted 2 piece has a wiped out backmark (probably benedict & burnham and the small cuff has a Wellington backmark.
my best find in the 2 hunts is the whizzer seated half dime.

Could the double holed half dime be from a home made bracelet? I've seen bracelets made out of seated and barber dimes posted on T-Net where the coin was holed like your half dime then a silver link was used to connect the coins together. Not sure how popular these type of bracelets were but if I recall correctly there were two posted not too long ago.

My guess it was used as a cuff-link or button for clothing of some type.
They also used to sew coins into their clothing for travelling as well.

That's a great dig.I say that spot has more Goody's waiting to be dug.That ground there must be a lot different from my Georgia dirt.Most of the time you hardly ever find an nail that looks like that.Nice hunt man

Pretty crude half dime I'd say. I got one of those at a coin show for 1.50$ since the guy wanted to get rid of it. Hey, at least I can say I own one!

Maybe a coin hospital could help your dime! Enjoyed seeing it but couldn't keep my eyes off those glorious buttons, wow! Yeah, sounds like you're looking too hard for the coppers -- (hint: they're probably just behind each area that your search, ha-ha.) I'm still looking for my first lousy stinking gold but on the way have found some nice silver in unexpected places. Have fun! Andi
