Found this today and was baffled at the sight of it lol they wanted $10 and I figured after seeing some 925 marks I'd take it. Crazy looking thing hahaha who the heck made this?? Is that molten lead holding it together? There a key ring as a link and then a gold wire holding another part, don't know what to make of this thing hahah let me know what you guys think is it cool? Who would make this? Probably just a fun little project I guess. Coin shop offered $40 for the silver on it, weighs like 360 grams.

Looks like it might have been some piece that was maybe worn by some little old lady who lost her fortune - maybe when her husband died. Anyway, looks like over the years, repairs were made the best CHEAP way they could be.

From the pics, "I" can't tell how long ago the repairs were made. For all I know, it was used as a prop in high school plays. Maybe it is a piece that USED to be valuable, but stones were stolen. Maybe they were all fake stones from the beginning. I'd recommend taking it and having the remaining stones checked out - find out just what you're dealing with. Without finding any hallmarks, I think your best bet is to take it in and let someone inspect the piece in person. ...The coin shop - are they a friend of yours? If not, it may be worth considerably more than what they offered.

It's Art Deco costume jewelry from the 1920's and is more valuable than you think. Visit a good jeweler or an upscale antique store to confirm...

That'd be amazing if it truly were an authentic 1920s piece! The place I bought it from got it out of a storage locker that had been sitting for years. The only hallmarks I see are 925 on some of the parts. On other parts it just looks like cheap stainless or gold plated pieces which I doubt they did in the 20s will get it checked out by a jeweler tomorrow!

As metro retro stated the piece is a marriage of parts. Look at the area near the clasp. Those five strands on each side were originally single strand bracelets...the more modern China or Italy "925 CZ" kind. They are soldered to brooches. Some more modern than others. The necklace is not Art Deco at all.

Unfortunately I took it to a jeweler and she immediately told me nope not 1920s, instead junk put together with some sterling on it... Maybe the bottom part of the necklace with the big crystals might be worth a few bucks as well. Will probably take it somewhere else and have them look at it lol but definitely not 1920s piece dang!
