This is at the tobacco shop. It's one of those quarter machines (you know, the one where you drop a quarter in hoping it will push the landslide of quarters off the edge). These pics were taken about a month ago. It's getting closer to the edge. But everytime it gets to close to the edge it mysteriously disappears for a week or two, then reappears at the back of the pile. It's so hard to not go down there with a bunch of quarters and dump 'em in. I know it would take twice as many quarters to get it out than it would cost to buy it, but dang I want to win it. ???. It's an 1897.

Stan

P.S. the other one on the right is a replica.

wait until it gets close to the edge and then bring a roll of quarters ;)

good luck, hope you win it

AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Those things are evil! I'm the biggest sucker in the world for those machines. I'm not into gambling or anything like that, but when I see one of those machines, I completely lose it! Keep those things away from me!

the machine in our local roses has a silver dollar that come an go from time to time. must be there way of increasing there profits

Man I love those things. When I was just a young teenager, they brought
these to the local carnival in town each year. I would stand and watch for
hours and hours, waiting for the people to quit when the Silver dollars would
be in a range worth going for. You'd be surprised how many quit, when one
was hanging on the edge half falling over, just because they tried a few times and it didnt
move. There were times I popped one quarter in, and 20 dollars in quarters fell
off in one try. I dont think carnivals are legally allowed to have them anymore...
man I wish they were !

This is how I aquired my first 2 Morgans and 1 Peace dollar. I still have them
and play with them all the time 20 yrs later !

Was it acid, or a coin. Cause I once saw a silver eagle. There was acid involved.

I hear ya, but the damn thing is about 1.5" from the edge, in the middle. It'd take $50 worth to get it to the edge. Then another $10 to knock it over. If anybody cares, I'll keep you posted.

Stan

Yes let us know if you get anything good out of those things. Just don't spend too much. HH,

SOMEONE REMIND ME ON THIS. I THOUGHT THIS TYPE OF MACHINE IS A RIPOFF.THERE ARE HIDDEN HOLES ON THE SIDE EDGES OF THE COIN MASS. WHEN U PUT A COIN IN THE PUSHER PUSHES IT ,BUT USSUALY U GET NOTHING BECUZ ANY COINS THAT FALL FALL TO THE SIDES NOT THE FRONT. THE FRONT EDGE IS ALSO ANGLED UPWARD A FEW DEGREES.ANOTHER PERSON TOLD ME SINGLE COINS OR GROUPS CAN BE GLUED.FROM THE BOTTOM.WHERE U CANT SEE IT.EITHER GLUED TO OTHER COINS OR TO THE MAT.PLEASE I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR MORE EXPERIANCES OF THESE MACHINES.BEING REALISTIC PROBABLY THERE COULD BE SOME FAIRER VERSIONS OF THIS AND SOME ARE COMPLETE RIPOFFS?
