Sweet find looks like some material I find. Not sure on the type but I know Benton’s are popular in TN.
Can you check the base to see if it feels sharp or smooth? That will help me a lot

Ft Payne chert is common in that area. Usually but not always a dark color. Black, brown or grey are the most common types.

There are more types of the Brewerton it could be. It’s says some are ground but I don’t think all are
