Ive got bot of those . Trust me the at pro is NOT worth it for salt water. Chatters like crazy. You can search we sand and freshwater areas though. I got the excalibur 2 and it was the best investment so far. Doesnt chatter AT ALL. Hope i could help.

But if your going to hunt freshwater which proboly has more trash u might want to get the at pro

Get a Tesoro TIGER Shark.

Get a Tesoro TIGER Shark.

Terry I see u pushing these tesoros on here, I know absolutely nothing about them. Why sould I get one over the Excalibur, sell me to be a tesoro can.

I have both the AT Pro and the Excalibur II and prefer the Excalibur
for the salt water! I bought my Excal used and saved about half the retail cost and fortunately
It was in new condition and came with an extra battery pod!
Buying used also allowed me to purchase a knob guard, 3 pc. carbon fiber
shaft and Stavr scoop with the money I saved!
Hope this helps in some way!
Good luck!

Thanks im deff lookin the used route incase I dnt get into it that crazy. Just like to try something different when it get hot ans humid in central Pa.

I've had a Tiger Shark for six years and would strongly recommend it for fresh water. It's lighter than an Excal, which makes it easy to search on shorelines and out of water areas, and it will find the tiniest pieces of gold and silver, some that even the Excal can't pick up. And it comes with a lifetime guarantee and Tesoros outstanding customer service. I was new to detecting when I got mine, and damaged my coil by shoreline hunting without a coil cover. Tesoro replaced it for me. And two years ago I sent it in because the headphone wires were separating. Repaired at no cost. This year it's going in for a tuneup and calibration. It has to have saved me at least a few hundred dollars.

I have used both the Excal and Tiger Shark in fresh water and have to say Get the Tiger Shark, It is less the cost of the Excal, Lighter, lasts longer on batteries and easy to change too if you need to. I've taken the Tiger diving to over hundred feet with no leaks and it is hot on thin chains unlike the Excal which doesn't see them if waved in front of the coil. Add to it the lifetime warranty and you can't go wrong.

Thanks guys I'm a minelab guy that's why I was thinking that way. I looked at the tigersharks and think I might try to pick a used one up if I can find one. Are there warranties transferable?

AT pro is a killer freshwater machine...lighter than Tiger Shark, has a screen, can change coils, etc.

i hunt freshwater beaches in Texas i use the excalibur 11 there is alot of trash on the beaches that i hunt and it works very well and if you ever go to a saltwater beach it would work well there also
