Dug up this bullet, it looks old to me and I'm curious on age and make. It has a "U" on the bottom. I'm sure somebody around here can shed some light on it for me. Thanks in advance. If possible, what is the width of the bullet, not the case, in 1000 of an inch. The U stands for Union Metalic Cartridge Company, 1869 to 1911. It kind of looks like a .32 rimfire for the first little Smith and Wesson revolver. I can't remember what they were called just off hand, and I have one. Old age does terrible things to the mind.

I was thinking maybe .41 rimfire, but without specific measurements it's just a guess.

I'd guess it's a .32 Extra Short, but can't confirm with out measurements of the diameter and length of the case.

I am also leaning towards the 41 caliber rimfire.

Thanks everybody, looks like .41 rimfire short is probably the one. Cool that it's for a derringer, I'm very happy with that.

I've been looking, but I can't find my micrometer..[emoji45]
