CarolinaHunter here. I am located in West Columbia and plan to return to some serious TH'ing after about a 15 year break. I would like to look at areas in the HWY 391 - Prosperity - Newberry - Saluda area for old home sites and old school building that have been closed.

Give me a shout if you have some sites in mind and maybe we can get together over New Year holidays.

I don't have any places in mind along 391...yet. I just got my detector last Friday.

Because I'm new, I'm not sure where I can go detecting. I've done some at Dreher Island and a public boat landing and the ball field in Prosperity. I sent an email to Newberry College to find out who to ask for permission to metal detect.

There is a run down home near one of the Newberry County recycle centers that has a for sale sign. I'm going to go back and find out who the Realtor is and give them a call to see about getting permission.
