Looking For A GPS ground kind

Hello ,
i was looking at the GPS the outdoor kind , problem is they don't say if you can put an location in it and it will take you there and back out of the woods , ,i was looking at the garmin kind also the walmarts kind , whats the best gps to use for this purpose, cheapest possible , what i want to do is find old house places wayy back in the woods and go there and metal detect the areas , any info guys an gals ..
