A couple years ago while surfing and looking for Mine related mysterios-o stuff, I came across a story of two friends, Guys in their teens or thereabouts who spent the summer prospecting/searching for gold and riches.
Seems they ended up in a place that had a cabin up from where they were camping. The legend/story was that the cabin was haunted/evil, and that those who slept in there were found dead in the mornings.
Evidently the weather got worse, and the one friend decided to sleep in the cabin. Of course in the morning he was found dead with no apparent marks. Inside the cabin was a chest or trunk against the wall which was used to cover the entrance of a mine shaft. The people who died were asphyxiated by some gas while the night temps dropped outdoors and the gas's were sucked out through the hidden wall entrance behind the trunk.
Ring any bells? and if so, could you direct me towards it's location....
