I was told the silver umax would fit me better than any for my price range anyone here have one any recomendatio?

I am not what you would call a beginner, but I just moved from and Ace250 to a Tesoro Silver uMax. I have read all of the reviews and everyone recommended the Silver uMax for an all around great machine, plus they say it will get great depth with the stock coil and even better depth with the 12x10 coil.
My machine is in transit right now so I can't speak on it from experience. Read the reviews here. Most folks recommend it over the higher models.

The Conquistador is no longer in production, it was replaced by the Cibola. If you can spare the extra money I would go for the Cibola.

now i have one more question? should i get a silver u max with a 12 x 10 coil or get a cibols and wait to get the sweeper coil?

Hey Planet,

I just picked up a Tejon and I have every intention of picking up a Silver uMax as my back up detector (w/the 12X10). From what I have heard they are as every bit as good as any machine twice their price.

The guys that would be able to really steer you in the right direction are Michigan Badger, Joe (USA), EasyMoney, Stoney and a few others. They can give you a definitive on the subject, but I'm certain you couldn't go wrong with the Silver.

I have used the Silver now for a few days. Both with the stock coil and the 12x10. Both coils are great and you will get more depth and coverage with the 12x10, but be warned that it will wear you down in half the time.
You can't really go wrong with this set-up. My next purchase will be a 3x18 widescan for covering a cleaner area quicker.
