looking for gold while on vacation

My wife and kids are going to Florida the last week of June and will return on the 4th. of July. I wanted to find some nice spots to stop on the way home. I live in Indiana and we will be taking 4 -5 days to travel back along the East coast. I would like to see some nice mines to walk through and a few places to do a little panning. Any info would be great.

I'm not really sure how to spell the name of this town...
but here goes Dalonaga GA. it has a old mine and u can
do some panning at this site also.. Good luck
