Looking for info on a medal found today

I found this National Taiwan University medal today and wanted some info on it . It has a date of 1928 on the back . It's the size of a half dollar . Any info would be great ! Thanks

The 1928 date is when the University was founded by the Japanese as Taihaku Imperial University, the Chinese renamed it National Taiwan University in 1945. Weird having the Chinese name with the Japanese founding date.
