We went back to our hot spot in the woods where I found the Spanish silver, Bust dime and half dime two weeks ago. We couldn't even get a good signal here, we got skunked at this site. We decided to press on deeper in the woods to look for 2 other home sites, we had a lot of trouble locating the 2ND site, I didn't bring the aerial because I thought I knew it by heart, big mistake. One of the Jim's found it and we hunted it for about an hour or so with no luck. The 2 Jim's had to leave, me and Johnny decided to go even further to look for the 3rd home site, I knew I could find this one because it's in the middle of a field. This site was infested with iron but I managed to find a large cent with no date and Johnny found a flat button. It is amazing to me that even in these remote locations we saw signs of digging at 2 of the 3 locations. All together we walked around 2 miles thru briar's a rabbit would have a hard time with and over creeks and deep hollows for our meager booty. It was a beautiful day in Kentucky yesterday and we had a ball but I don't think we will do it again. Here are my finds from the 3RD site.

Looks like an 1848 or 1843 to me. Congrats on your hunt, sounds like alot of work hiking thru all of the briars ,creeks and hills.

As you're walking through the woods, trying to find your targeted site, if you pass any clearings or areas that look pretty easy to hunt, check them out, since some of my best finds have come from random drops in random areas.

I am not sure about the date. On the other thing, you know it was. :laughing7:

I never use the smiley things, but I know you will understand.

It's a small world.

Thanks BF, I know I Like finding Easter Lillie's in the woods this time of year.

Nice finds, I know how you feel on walking the hills and hollers, glad you was able to bring something out with your efforts.

that's one way to find the sites. I do the same thing up here, just following the stone walls that run everywhere through the hills & dales. HH
