Looking for one or two more Dallas area Tneters for a hunt. UPDATED BETTER PIC

Got a spot picked out I found on Google Earth. It's a bridge that connected an old road that as far as I can tell has not been accessible for maybe forty years or more. There should be plenty of road bed left on both sides. The road appears on old maps but was removed when Interstate 80 was built. I am in Mesquite. I have been looking for a way to get to this old bridge. The road is no longer visible. I drove to Seagoville and headed the direction of the bridge but the road was blocked off and has a sign, Sheriffs Firing Range. I can see the range on Google Earth and it's not close to the bridge but if you could get past the range you could get allot closer. Know any Sheriffs around there? From the other side, Scyene Road dead ends and I can't find a way to get near the bridge that way either. I am contemplating just parking and walking the railroad tracks that run near it. I figure since there was a road through there, there might be some old home sites as well. If you can access Google Earth, go to the coordinates at the bottom of the pic and check it out yourself. So far it is just me and one other member. The spots a little remote so I will not be making that many trips in. I would like one or two more people to go so we could cover some ground and get an idea of what may be in there. PM me if interested so we can meet up.

Hey DFW hunters. I started hunting in late '60s mostly in Oak Cliff area.
My old buddy JW worked for Bell Telephone and found us some great
places to hunt. I've been gone from Big D since '84, moved to Panhandle
and retired from Post Office in '97. Still have most all my detectors including
Explorer and CZ-6 not to mention my trusty Bill Mahan bfo Coinshooter (the
very best BFO ever made) JW moved to Red River, NM after he retired and
we hunted around olde ghosts near ther and up in San Juans in Colorado.
We had lots of fun and found mucho keepers. We both got gold fever after
he came back from Down Under with a pouch of small nuggets. We made
a trip to the Little Rockies up in Montana and several trips to gold country
in Arizona. My wife's bad health has kept me close to home the last 3 years.
Anyway you guys who are history buffs have heard of (John?) Stemmons
and have driven on his freeway countless times. JW grew up on one of his
farms SE of Dallas. His dad was a trusted and loyal tenant of Mr. Stemmons.
Mr. S shocked Mr. W way back in the '40s when he hauled in all the antiques
from his mother's home to a big barn to store away. Little JW prowled
through this wonderland with wide eyes and found there a huge pickle crock
filled with sterling silverware, silver trays, coffee service and such, all .925
sterling and gold trimmed dinnerware. One day when JW got home from
school he found a big commotion. Old man S. came to the farm mad as
a wet hen and ordered that the whole barn and all be burned. So the dozer
that had been brought with him commenced to push the whole caboodle
100 yards to a low spot and set it afire. JW found the spot still smoking
after the dozer pushed dirt over the lost fortune. But it wasn't really lost
since JW can't forget. Mr. S. sternly warned the whole bunch of W's to
leave that spot ALONE. Mr W respected his word and wanted no part of
distubing the site. Even today JW's brother wants no part of it either.
STILL JW wonders what all that .925 Sterling would fetch today with the
price of wilver advancing. The land has all been sold, resold, divided up
and has a live-in guard nearby BUT the only difference in the spot is a
grove of snarly mesquites that cover Mr. S's silverware.

I don't know if you are still on here but I found this old thread about that abandoned bridge between Mesquite and Forney. I immediately recognized what you were talking about from a conversation that I had with my uncle a couple of months ago. He said that the bridge went to a cotton mill that is no longer there, and he used to go there with my granddad in the 50's and 60's to hunt crawdads along the river. I have no idea how to get down there but I do know that Lawson rd. is open again over there. The Law Enforcement gun range, NOT the public range on Lawson, was started by a different uncle in the early 70's. He was a police officer for Mesquite PD. He is the only officer to have ever been killed in the line of duty in Mesquite. There is a softball field named after him on New Market. Do you ever MD over there? I am just getting started (like today is my first day), and I figure that that park and the trail behind it would be a good place to look.

I grew up in Mesquite, and remember going out to that old bridge on a Cub Scout field trip, probably in about '66. It was an old wooden arched bridge over the river. It would have been a continuation of Scyene Road. Went once later as a mischievous teen. Since this post is several years old, if anybody has info let us how the hunt went.
