Hi all , last nite went to a spot that soley dates around the Great Depression era.I on the hunt for what is considered rare Australian coppers.I have been hunting along time but have only one.But i still need 1923 half-penny and 1930 penny.I would have little or no chance but i think i,m looking in the spot.

i have never been a random hunter and use as much info i can aquire before i hunt.Location has be right as i have a lack of population and history around here only dates to 1830.

I tried a site that was active during the great Depression. Many poeple who had no ware to live or had work at the time were forced into the countryside to take old jobs on farm and help with crops for keep. The site was a labour recruiting station where some 200 people would gather every morning hoping for a days pay.

Well think didn,t turn the way i wanted too but all same still had fun.

This year is 75 years of Vegimite and i did find a first addition jar from 1923 and the only other find was a 1921 half -penny.I cannot understand why you americans don,t like Vegimite :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch:

snicker, snicker Any time you want a jar just MP me tinpan

Nice Half Penny. I was in Perth around 20 years ago and someone opened some Vegemite in the car. Boy the smell was so strong that I made them open the windows. Smelled like vitamin B to me. Yuk!

Yep a very good source of Vitamin B - a teaspoon a day will keep mossies away! A friend of mine used to give it on toast to her pet orphaned kangaroo. You can't get much more Australian than a vegemite eating kangaroo ;D
